FERGIE RETIRES

FERGIE RETIRES
It’s no longer news that Sir Alex Ferguson retires at the end of the season following his confirmation of the news when it broke.NSM wishes him a fulfilling life in retirement. During his 26 years at the club, he won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier League and two UEFA Champions League titles. He is a great achiever and a football manager extraordinaire. He will be remembered for his runs, gesticulations on the sidelines and gum chewing on the bench. He was Manchester United’s Manager for 26 years and he took the football club to enviable heights. In those years he was the face of United since he took over from Ron Atkinson in November 6, 1986.He commanded respects even among his opponents in the EPL. Jose Mourinho described him as a great manager and one of the best the game has ever produced. The popularity he brought to Man United got the club fans all over the globe.
How will Manchester United cope without The Boss? Will it take its pride of place in the football world? Football community will miss him but at the background, he will surely be working for the club as a director and ambassador. For those who are close to him it didn’t come as  a surprise to them that he decided to retire this time after countless speculations  in the last few years. Age is no longer on his side (he is 71) and he couldn’t cope with daily rigour of matches and trainings. He must have planned it to retire on the high by winning the 2012/2013 English Premiership League. Not many knew that his first match was a 2-0 defeat to Oxford United in November 8, 1986 and in 1989 United was just managed to escape relegation. Journalists and fans were once calling for his resignation in those first three years.

The newly appointed coach of Manchester United FC is David Moyes; a fellow scot and admirer of Alex. He is presently the coach of Everton FC. Will he tread the victorious of the Boss or go beyond his achievement? Time will tell but NSM does not think the newly crowned champions of England does not have time, City is waiting in the wing, Chelsea breathing down its neck and Arsenal and Tottenham believe they have a chance at the championship. Moyes must hit the ground and keep the club running
