ONE NGF ELECTION TOO MANY

The last has not been heard about the outcome of NGF chairmanship lection supposedly won by two governors. Governor Chibuike Amaechi who won the election with 19-16 votes defeating Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau state.Jang claimed he won the election too and so declared himself the chairman of NGF (Nigeria Governors’ Forum).Jang’s faction has been recognized by the presidency   and has opened a new office since Amaechi refused to vacate the former office.
In the following events, a video clip was released as a culture in Nigeria by Amaechi. The 8-minutes clip showed how he won the election with supports of his colleagues. However a colleague has fired back that the video lied and Amaechi should showed where he voted for him in the movie. The colleague is no other that the governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko of Labour Party.
The video concept was not new to us in Nigeria and we have developed Nollywood to the extent that any Nigeria can shoot a movie. The politicians and those in authority know we love our Nollywood that is why even before the industry became known worldwide, we have started shooting different kind of films either documentary, fictional, season or home video. Unfortunately some of the movie may not get to African Magic or sold off-shelf. Abacha showed Gen. Oladipo Diya & Co crying for mercy as they admitted to a plan to topple his junta. In 2012, when the bribery scandal that eventual cut Hon Farouk Lawan to size broke, there were denials. Femi Otedola, the oil magnate said Farouk Lawan took $600,000 bribe to remove the name of his company from the list of those indicted in subsidy theft of 2012.Otedola later released a video clip as an ‘undercover agent.’ The purported video showed how a responsible honourable known for integrity stuffed hard currency in cap and pocket under a flowing babaringa. Curiously, where is the video now? With Amaechi adding his video clip to the growing list, no country can surpass us in movie productions and some of our rulers are doing great at espionage and should not be wasting their raw talents in government houses!
Very soon a husband and wife in a court of law may show us what really transpired between them behind closed doors in their bedroom.
Another fall out of the election brouhaha is the suspension of Governor of Sokoto state, Aliyu Wakkaso from PDP by the Central Working Committee of the party. He was suspended for not obeying the PDP Governors’ Forum chairman, Godswill Akpabio of A’Ibom state. It’s becoming clearer that all this shenanigans are precursors for GEJ bid for 2015.
