Atletico are 2013|2014 champions of La Liga in Spain after drawing 1-1 away to Barcelona at Camp Nou. Atletico was ahead of Barcelona with 2 points and Rela Madrid with 4 points.
The expectation before today's showdown was that a win for Barcelona will see them winning the League again. The win would have put the two clubs at par on points and on better head to head,Barca will win. The match looked more exciting for taking place at Camp Nou, Barcelona.
Barcelona scored first through Alexis Sanchez but the joy of Barca fans were shortlived when Diego Godin equalised in the 49th minute for Atletico. The match reamined like that till final whistle. All through the season showned that they needed the trophy by continuing to trail both Barcelona on the log.Even though they seemed to have lost it with last few games where they lost and drew games.they kept up the tempo. The success of the club this season was also evidenced in ereaching the 2014 Champions League Final. The Club play Real Madrid on May 24 in Lisbon. It is good for the club as they go into the final with a trophy snatched from powerful hand of Barcelona, and in the front of both Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Congratulations, Atletico Madrid for a well deserved trophy. The club is winning the cup after 18 years of wait.Congratulations,Diego Simeone for a well done job as manager of this hardworking club which is never afraid to kill giants.
