About three weeks ago,Monica Lewinsky came out of oblivion after nearly two decades. You remember her? She said she regretted all that happened in 1997 when she was paid to take down President Bill Clinton. She was a White House intern in 1997 who had an affair with the president and succumbed to pressure from the opposition to produce evident for his impeachment. In her late confession and even now she admitted she betrayed the man who truly loved her even though the relationship wasn't right.
The president did accepted that he had inappropriate relationship with her but he was impeached by House of Representatives on December 19,1997 but The Senate saved him on February 12,1998 by not impeaching him. The Clinton years were marked with unimaginable years of American prosperity both economically and politically. United States achieved so much in term employment and External Reserves that public opinion favoured Clinton's continuation in office despite the Monica Saga.He was almost brought down by vociferous opposition but for his outstanding achievement in government.
It is curious to see Ms Lewinsky now that Mrs Hilary Clinton has declared to run for next US presidential election. The opposition might be at work to remind Americans about what happened several years ago.This is an uncharitable move. Americans have moved on since then. The Clintons have moved on. Hilary showed uncommon support for the husband during those troublesome days for the president even though she wasn't happy about the unfaithful act. It is an act that qualify her for presidential position this time again. Last time she competed with President Obama for Democrats' ticket, I rooted for her because she deserved it. Americans need more courageous and indefatigable personality like her
. I love her carriage and the way she chooses her words. She robbed on her husband and her husband on her. I hope she gets the ticket this time.
Looking at what Monica had achieved since 1997|1998, I found out that she has not done much. She became a media personality after the sex scandal but that didn't last. She got a promotional contract for advertisement of a diet drug,that didn't last too.She wrote her memoir on the sex scandal,it didn't last too.And to cap it all, she has had no stable relationship. This is the lot of betrayers. Those who wants to reinvent the ghost of those challenging years in American history are wasting their precious resources.I hope they are not bringing her back to implicate the incumbent president.
