Nigeria lost 0: 1 to Sudan in an AFCON qualifier match today in Khartoum.The lackluster display of the Nigerian national football team continued.Today's performance was far worse than previous two matches. It is heartbreaking to see the team playing so much without purpose.Coach Steven Keshi is so disillusioned that he knoew he had not only diaapointed himself but the entire nation. we had mentioned on this blog that Keshi has seen his best in the national team after winning AFCON 2013.
In the natch, he brought in one Raheem Lawal as substitute who was running aimlessly for nothing.Musa played nothing while Emenike was a minus for the team.The Sudanese team was just a bunch of directional players yet could score againbst Nigeria.The goal was the only clear chance they had and they scored.If you watch the match and pevious matches, you will keep asking yourself who will score the goal for Nigeria.It is another sad day for Nigerian football.Nigeria has put its qualification for AFCON in jeopardy.
South Africa boldly spanked Congo Brazzaville 2: 0 in Pointe- Noire against our predictions.Kudos to the team.They needed to win and they did.In any case if they had been more clinical against Nigeria in South Africa, they would have won.The Bafana Bafana are clearly the best and the favourite to qualify in the group.Now they are on top of the group with 7 points, followed by Congo with 6 points.Sudan has 3 points while Nigeria has just 1 point from the lucky draw with South Africa.Just like we predicted in past posts on this blog, they are at the brink of not defending their title again.Please read : SUPER EAGLE OF NIGERIA : THE DESCENT 2
Coach Keshi has vowed not call Ike Uche.He said as long as he is the coach, Uche will not play for Nigeria again. Anyway the lad will play when he himself is soon sacked.Nigerians have seen the best of Keshi and we have had enough disgrace.Sudan has never beaten Nigeria in the last 3 decades.When will the descent end? This shame is too much.
In return leg in Nigeria on Oct 15, against the Sudanese, don't expect a surprise.only a miracle will give Nigeria a draw. Or who will score the goals?
