SHOW OF SHAME AT NATIONAL ASSEMBLY : THE EXECUTIVE LOOKS ON

Events that followed the show of shame at the National Assembly Abuja on Thursday November 20, shows that one cannot completely absolve GEJ.By now the presidency should have asked the Inspector General of police to come and explain reasons for the fiasco that has brought disrepute to this great nation globally.

There appear to be desperation on the part of the executive to get approval for extension of request for state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states. The lawmakers alleged that they came to seat so that they can consider the request of Mr president on the extension of state of emergency which will end on that Thursday. However there were PDP lawmakers who didn't want to be outdone by the APC counterparts on issue of GEJ's impeachment plot. They were desperate to get into the complex since APC members too were desperate. In any case, the lawmakers  voted against the extension of state of emergency in those states with lots of gusto.
The president ought to have addressed Nigerians to wash his hands off this terrible disgrace. The anchor of the president's media relationship, Dr Doyin Okupe did not do justice to the issue in his address.

Nigerians are at a loss as to the brand of politics we play. Should we call it gate crashing politics or politics of the fence scaling? What is the different between what happened at the complex gate and what we have daily at Oshodi in Lagos? Even Oshodi is better now. Is this a prelude to what is to be expected in 2015?
