ANPP, CPC FORMALLY ADOPT APC

The major issue as  two political parties, All Nigeria Peoples Party and Congress for Progressive Change officially adopt the merger between them, ACN(Action Congress of Nigeria) and CPC. ANPP held its national convention in Gusau, Zamfara state while CPC held its convention at Eagle Square at FCT, Abuja. Present were the big wigs of the parties and representatives of ACN at both venues.

NSM Analysis
Chief Bisi Akande, the chairman of ACN was in a gleeful mood laughing and shaking hands as the motion for the change of party name of CPC to APC was moved and adopted. Seriously it looked to NSM that the meaning of the laughter is that we’ve caught them. Rtd. Gen Muhammad Buhari happiness and satisfaction was like, yeah am getting close to ruling this country at all costs .Most of the speeches were about taking power from ruling PDP. ACN was the first to formally adopt the new name of the merger,APC during its convention some weeks ago in Lagos. So what happens when PDP uses all its muscles in incumbency and win or captures many of the states? Will they go separate ways again? The bottom line for the merger is ambition, inordinate ambition to get power by CPC. The ambition of ACN is to get to the centre as it captures the west. What is ACN taking to the centre? NSM was at Gusau and we saw Aregbesola make its brief speech but he didn’t say whether he will Islamize Nigeria as in Osun state when his party gets to the centre. A respectable Governor Fayemi was at Gusau too but unfortunately he didn’t say anything different from what we know already in this country. The ambition of ANPP is to belong and get relevance for a party that is divided along interest lines.

Politically I think this nation is doomed. we are blessed with immense resources by God and it clear the only problem we have is poverty of quality leadership and absolute lack of patriotism. We do more of politics of the stomach; even when the stomach is full we scatter the wealth and will not pass on the baton. Governor Fashola was in Abuja for the CPC convention and I saw Audu Ogbe remember him and politics of PDP? Some people just like to go where they are called to come and eat.
For PDP it has promised to rule Nigeria till only God knows when. They recently promised to capture the country again as they normally do. I don’t think Nigeria has ever produced such a party that has no regard for the governed. The party leadership and the candidates treat people with so much impunity. The President for example care less whether we all die as long as he continues in power. All GEJ ever wanted was to remain as president. Asari Dokubo spoke his mind set during the week when he said Nigeria will break if GEJ is not elected again in 2015,two years ahead. We think it’s a Niger Delta agenda. Is that what we need? What insolence. All the parties lack ideologies. Money coupled with need to come and eat is what is making people to flock to those parties.
