LATEST NEWS ON THE LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER JOURNALISTS ARRAIGNED BY FG IN COURT

The FG on Monday April 29, 2013, through its counsel, Anthony General of the Federation has amended the charges against the two journalists of Leadership newspapers and the newspapers by removing the forgery charges. No reason was given for the latest development. The initial charges of the journalists were due to a publication of a document in the newspaper titled, “Bromide of a presidential Directive.”
Just pondering, was it after thought that the FG will shoot itself in the foot if it continued with the charges? The best thing for GEJ is to tell the AGF to withdraw forthwith the entire suits against the newspaper and the two journalists, Tony Amokeodo and Chibuzor Ukaibe
May 3, today is world press freedom day. There is nothing much to share as a country as the a president who came to be by  persistent press publication in his favour, suddenly sent forces of government to harass and intimidate this same press.
