The Federal governmet has come out to say that they will not probe former President Olusegun Obasanjo.There have been speculations in some quarters that the presiseny will begin probe of the god father of president GEJ.The rumour is not unconnected with recent outburst of the former president and open criticism of the actions of government.Once the former president said the GEJ was too slow at tackling Boko Haram insurgents.In another breath he almost said he regreted imposing the president on Nigerians.All these utterance made the relationship between GEJ and OBJ to be frosty.
Interestingly the same instruments of state OBJ used with reckless abandon during his reign such as anti-corruprion agencies may be set against the former president.Whether it is a rumour or not,one thing is sure,there is no love lost betwen a servant and the former master.
I don't think Mr President can probe his benefactor because it has never happened in Nigeria.Probing a powerful figure like OBJ is a like riding on the back of a tiger and the rider might ultimately end in the belly of the tiger.OBJ is like a hurricane,even trees are uprooted by its fury.At least we make him so in Nigeria.
