Boko Haram make fresh demand.The criminal gang hiding under the umbrella of Islam abducted 234 girls in their school 3 weeks ago. Last week a video purported to be sent by the group was released showing Shekau reveling in the abduction of the girls.The mentally unfit leader, said he would sell the girls as slaves swearing by Allah.He said he had markets for selling them.
The pressure from the whole world for the release of the girls as well as military assistance outside the shores of Nigeria are getting to Shekau and his gang.Today the man sent another video showing the girls reciting Quaranic verses wearing Hijab.Some of the girls were seen speaking about the good of Islam and evil of Christianity.This is bad publicity for any faith.Any faith that captures people and forced them to accept their religion and teachings has some inadequacies.Many Islamic scholars have denounced Boko Haram as anti-Islam since Islam is a religion of peace.They are saying Boko Haram are being sponsored to smear Islam.
The criminals have found out that the rug is being pull under their feet and have changed strategy now to demand release of their members imprisoned by government. Abubakar Shekau has been exposed by saying he would swap people he earlier promised to sell.If he gets his swap deal, what happens to his market for selling girls.
However, the Federal government has rejected the deal saying it was absurd.With time and concerted efforts, Boko Haram will understand they can only run and cannot hide again.The heat is on them now.
