BRING BACK OUR GIRLS : SHEKAU'S GAME PLAN

In Borno state of Nigeria,families of 54 out of about 234 abducted have identified their daughters among those shown in the purported video released by Boko Haram on Monday.The number of those identified includes those three who were talking in the video .In the video,the leader of the blood thirsty group, Abubakar Shekau had requested that the girls will only be released if members of his group in prison all over the country are released by government of Nigeria.

The ability of the families to identify some of the girls showed clearly that government got it wrong by insisting that the girls were not missing.The first promoter of this propaganda was the first lady herself as shown in her infamous public address which is now known as "Na Only You Waka Come" or #NaOnlyYouWakaCome? Other government apologist have taken to spreading the wicked rumour that no girls was missing nor abducted in Chibok ,Borno state.

In all these,one cannot but mention the power of communication in this age of internet.The world indeed has become a global village. The plight of the girls and evils of Boko Haram is known in all corners of the world.The abducted girls have become world citizens.And the need to rescue the girls alive is a world assignment and Nigeria should not fail because the world is  watching as events unfold.Even the man who is opposing western education is using western education to send his videos and his satanic videos are broadcast in western news media.

There are reports that governments is willing to dialogue with the insurgent, but the bulk of public opinion is that no one should dialogue with the group. There are those who believe in the fact that nothing is too big to sacrifice for the safe return of the girls but some are of the view that Shekau, in his deranged status may ask for tougher conditions when his members are released.


The request for his members release should give our intelligence some information about the sinking ground Shekau stands .He had trained his members to die in their missions.They are all potential suicide bombers and can be expended.So what does he need them for? Is Shekau in urgent need of foot soldiers? He had boasted before that those captured were not his members just  to weaken government success during shoots out with the authorities.Can such a man be trusted? Is Shekau foreseeing final showdown with Allied forces? One thing I know for sure is that if the girls were boys, he would have turned them at that tender age to terrorists like him.He may want his members now, the next move might be hard currency for all money spent to prosecute his heinous crimes. He may even demand for amnesty and dont be surprise if the uses the girls as shield when closed in.
