DEATH TOLL IN SYNAGOGUE BUILDING RISES TO 49

At the last count, death toll in building collapse on Friday at Synagogue church of all nations in Ikotun Lagos rose to 49 yesterday. The total number of survivors brought out safely under the rubble  and receiving treatment in various hospitals in the area is now 130 according to NEMA, one the recuse team at the scene of the accident.

The guest house of the church which belong to a housing mostly foreign visitors, went down on Friday trapping and killing scores of members. The church headed by popular Nigerian Pastor,T.B Joshua in  press statement said the collapse was due to a plane that hovered around the church for many times. The church believed that it was an attack by deadly and loathsome group, boko haram. It was reported by church that the plane seen used was similar to the one the military declared missing in Adamawa state. We don't know how believable is this.

However, the National Emergency Management Agency have said that preliminary investigations, pointed to the fact that the foundation of the building gave way because it was meant for a two- storey building before it was converted to a six- storey building. Lagos state government has promised to investigate the matter and that the church might be sanctioned if found to have violated building law in the state.
