Three
days ago, the Nigerian army succeeded in repelling attacks from boko
haram,a terrorist group that has become a nuisance to our collective
security and goodwill. The group had maimed and killed thousands of
innocent Nigerians including the adoption of about 213 young girls. It's
past 150 days and the girls are no where to be found. On daily
basis,towns and villages in North Eastern part of Nigeria were mowed by
the insurgents. Residents of communities under attacks continued to flee their homes
and heritage. Internally displaced persons number swelled beyond our
imagination.Infact there is no accurate figure for the number both from
government and the media.This buttress the point that the number is
large.
In
the fight against this terrorist group, it appeared we were helpless as
a nation. It is a big relief that our military are making a headway.
Over 150 members of the terrorist group were killed in exchange of fire
yesterday. The nation must keep this pace up pushing them out of our
territory. The recent action of the Federal government of declaration of
total war is commendable and that has been the position of this blog.
Any attack on any Nigerian is an attack on all Nigerians and we must
declare total war as if fighting another country.
