Emergency rule is eminent in the
trouble zones in the country but many are opposed to it. However, NSM believes
that any policy or step that will quash the entire affront against the
government of Nigeria should be taken. We have suffered enough from those who
think they have the sole mandate to wreck havoc by turning a once peaceful
nation into a war zone. We cannot continue like this and expected that the
criminals will stop; they will not stop because they believe they have the monopoly
of terror and are winning. It’s just unfortunate that we have a president that
gives unwittingly hoodlums free hand to feed on the blood of the innocents or
can someone promise us when this killings will stop.
NSM was right when it opposed the
issue of amnesty for criminals. So will the amnesty committee extend its
dragnet to the cultist group too? Does Nigeria need to beg for forgiveness from
them for killing our people in such dastardly way?
And for those going against
likely imposition of state of emergency in some part of the country, they
should please offer concrete way forward and let us review their own panacea.
Certainly this government will not declare any state of emergency in the North
except sit had been in the South. The government
and those eating at his table are per-occupied with capturing more states and political
jobbers in 2015 than any declaration. To PDP it may boomerang against them in 2
years’ time. So they must tread softly even if there is no one to vote in those
areas then. Come to think of it are we not under emergency rule already in
Nigeria?
